Sony announced via the PlayStation Blog that GameStop will be offering an exclusive pre-order item for God of War: Ascension. The voucher you will receive from GameStop will give you access to the history of 300 superstar, Gerard Butler. You can play as him while you battle others online and show everyone that your the most famous spartan around! According to the post you will be wearing “King Leonidas’s red cape, iconic helmet, and armor” and you will be using his deadly spear as your weapon. He also has his own combat moves that will be different from everyone else. This will definitely make you stand out from the crowd as long as your the only one sporting King Leonidas’s skin in the match. I’m so excited to finally see a new zombie map for Call of Duty Black Ops 2! This is a refreshing sight, shown is a new zombie map called “TRANZIT”. The scene is dark and takes place in what looks like an old restaurant. From looking at the video, it appears that you can pick up objects around the level and put them together to build a “Zombie Shield”. The Zombie Shield will come in handy while fending off all of the crazy zombies. Can’t wait to see more zombie updates coming soon!
Matt Webster chatted with the EA blog the other day, and he sad that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will be about ‘four times bigger’ than Criterion’s last big racing game, Burnout Paradise. Here are a few reasons why. First and foremost, Criterion wanted the cars going upwards of 250 miles per hour, so more speed means more room needed. There will also be more elevation in the levels, as well as more space to do things like hide your car in the bushes and find off-road shortcuts. Webster says there are over 100 miles of tarmac, and lots of other space to explore as well.
He also talks about the game’s “Autolog” system, which will allow for ghost competitions between players, and what he’s calling the “Speed Wall,” a set of leaderboards which shows how close you are to overtaking your friends, even if they’re not online. And finally, Webster says that Criterion has been hard at work replicating real cars for the game — they had to fine tune the wheels of a McLaren out 2 mm just to get it to hit the right top speed in-game. Sounds like the game is coming along well — it’s scheduled to hit the lights and punch it this November.
